"I want there to be no peasant so poor in all my realm that he will not have a chicken in his pot every Sunday." Heni IV, quoted in Hardovin de Perefixe, 1681
About Us
I am a ceramic artist and potter with Southern roots in North Carolina, Lousisana and Texas. I am a graduate of Austin College, where my most excellent daughter is currently a finishing senior. I received a Masters in Fine Art from the University of North Texas, where a large cohort of ceramic grads, made long, lasting and inspirational friends. Since graduation, I have compiled an extensive teaching resume and a spectrum of art and ceramic experiences. The most spiritually fulfilling being my tenure in Montreat, North Carolina, at The Wilbur Hoke Currie Craft Center and Sally Jones Pottery. I am always looking for new ceramic experiences and encourage questions and invitations in that regard.
I have justs rencently moved to the Montreat/Black Mountain area, where I had previously spent summers working within a setting that fosters my mission of community and inspired me for the rest of the year. I am excited to do this year round rather than just summers and look forward to milder winters after spending ten in Illinois. I have also joined the Black Mountain Center for the Arts in their endeavor to bring the arts to the people of the community. A detailed schedule of events and passing ideas is available on the Blog page. A visual list of forms, available glazes, and pricing are available on our Product page. Some of the forms upcoming will include soup tourines, tagines, cassoles, saki sets, tea sets, communion ware and place settings, by commission.
Mine is a small studio with big ideas, hoping to meet the needs of the customer unmet, and display the range of products current customers expect and collect. It is my hope that this site will make it easier for my friends and customers in North Carolina or where your home is, to place orders and receive service as desired. This site is my attempt to service a larger community and bring more of you into a relationship with clay. I hope this sight adds to the frequency of our communication.
